Towbar Protection Mod

Hey kids,

i was wondering, as i dont have a towbar yet i was going to get an ARB rear protection step..

would it be ok too weld on tubing onto a stock towbar to gain the extra tub protection

i look the look of the chrome rear step and would prefer to keep it

the guys and Scott's hot Rods would do it and can engineer if needed

Don't forget that if you're towing heavy loads, you may need to put a weight distribution hitch (WDH) on and that has to be mounted very securely or it will rip the mount from the chassis.

If you're only going to haul a 6x8 (not overloaded) then you'll never need a WDH, and never have the problem. If they're experienced at this sort of thing then there'd be no reason why you couldn't do that and expect it to last.

Yeah that'll be fine, towbars aren't heat treated.
