'99 3.2ltr non turbo diesel tacho not working

Hi Guys,

Trying to fix the mother in laws car atm.... Its got me stumped, there isnt a whole heap of help in the workshop manual either. The tacho is not working, is it a common thing??

She has had it at the auto electricians and they cant seem to fix it. Any places I should start looking first its a 99 non turbo diesel.

Pretty common issue. The problem is usually in the cluster from memory.

Tried to search but had a few beers at that stage... Its the mother in laws car, can it be fixed or is it a case of hunt down a new cluster/tacho for it?

Someone else had the problem ages ago on here.

From memory, its usually a average soldering job Nissan (VDO) done on the tracks.
