hey guys, im just wondering which is the best, most people ive spoken to recomend engel but waeco seems to offer a pretty good warranty and a pretty competeitve price, so what do you reackon?

To me it's the old Holden/Ford Nissan/Toyota thing, buy what you like better they are both good fridges. I've got 2 Waeco CF-35's that I've had for about 6 months and they've been great, use one as a freezer and the other as a fridge.

The reason I bought the Waeco's, low battery cut out, better priced and better warranty, and they fitted in my camper trailer, where as none of the Engels in a similar size would fit.

When not away on a trip in the trailer, one is in the back of my ute on day trips, or they sit inside running on 240v all the time, one as a 2nd freezer and the other as a 2nd fridge.

Shonky is right they are both good units. Personally I have a 40L Engel which has supplied me with cold beer and food for many years now and across plenty of corrugated dusty desert tracks. I have no doubt either will hold up fine. I prefer the steel case of the engel but it can be prone to rust I guess. Keep in mind engel have also released a cheaper plastic marine style of fridge to make your decision even harder.

Ive got the 40l engel, one of the best things ive bought. I think it comes down to what you can get for the best price.

I have a Waeco CF40 (AC Verb) model about 8 months old, got a ripper deal at a local Anaconda store, $695. After a few visits to and from Rays Outdoors mind you. I prefer the plastic outer casing over the steel Engel, doesnt scratch and dint as easy. Warranty good and hasnt missed a beat so far.

Last month i bought a 45L Lumina 3 way Aldi el cheapo for $299. Works ok.
When my porn star career really takes off i should hopefully be able to aford a engel.

I've got a 40L engel, keeps my beer icy cold. Mates have always had engels. We've flipped them over in the back of the ute chasing pigs and still it kept going. Tough as nails.

we got a 40lt waeco that got floated across a waterhole when we got the gq SWB Safari stuck. opened the back doors to get the recovery gear out and the fridge floated out with a whole lot of rubbish. still works lol

I have the big boy , 110lt waeco and after nearly 4 years it hasn't missed a beat.

I have a CCF45 Waeco and a 40ltr Evakool...the Waeco resides in the Campertrailer and the Evakool in the truck. The Waeco is about 9 years old and the Evakool 2 years old. The Evakool it by far the best in the tropical areas because of its much better insulation but both run Danfoss 35 compressors and these are the best in the business.

what about the auto fridge my mates got 1 an swears by it cause of it ice bank tech which is basically frozen gel in the walls from my understanding rather than just form so it fridge doesnt need to cut in as oftern. anyone herd of them ???
