I haven't done the chip but have done the exhaust and was stoked with it.
Someone will come along that has done both to give you some proper advice.

always do exhaust before increasing power.

Both need wiring in on the 3.0di model, as far as I know, there is a wire that goes from a sensor at the accelerator to the fuel pump. Someone else may be able to clear this up.
