CHUUBZ' Dual Cab - D40

Hey guys,

Joined the forum not too long ago and thought it was about time I make a thread. Good mate of mine on here and alot of you's know him, Kyle - ONLOCK, convinced me to get the D40 over the Hilux after going bush with him many times and proving how capable they are and here I am.

Purchased a 2007 STX D40, black, 2.5L turbo diesel manual dual cab. Stock as a rock and not in the best condition, replaced the drivers seat, took her into the panel shop and and fixed the tub, new tailgate and bits and pieces in every panel lol, fitted a 4" lift and Safari snorkel thanks to the help of Kyle, 33" MTZ on black steeley's, steel bullbar, Lightforce XGT 240 spotties. Next on the list is winch, UHF and maybe some lockers.

Looking forward to getting it scratched up and dirty with ya's in upcoming trips!

Welcome, your lift and tyre set up is the same as I have planned to get done by hopefully Christmas time! Let me know how you go with scrapping the tyres on the guards.

very nice, should look the goods. Will be good to see finished.

So Onlock and myself fitted the 2" suspension lift kit and 35mm coil spacer upfront and with a bit of inner guard massaging and some heavy mash hammer hitting to the guard the 33's fit without a drama so won't be installing the 2" body lift only thing that scraps is the front bar when reversing but a new bullbar coming will sort that out.

Good work fella. You are banned from any trips with me 'cause if I see the 33's the boys know what will happen next!

Ahaha, just put some on belles car so I might have to go 35's next

33's on the Jeep........nice. So she won't be bringing that on any trips cause it will make our trucks look even less capable!

I'm not going through any bog holes without a snorkel Kyle haha. Speaking of snorkels I ordered a Safari Snorkel for the ol' girl and I'm picking it up tomorrow. Called up ARB for a Delux Sahara bullbar and earliest I can get it is mid Jan, I'll try and source one 2nd hand but if I cant get it before xmas I'll order it from ARB. Also got 18% window tint all round done couple of days ago so I'll try and get some pics up soon!

Hurry up and get the pics up your doing a build similar to what i want to do!

Haha Kyle , you'll just have to peer pressure him into driving it. Mine copied a thrashing on the weekend just something about stormy weather gets me keen for going for a soot. Keen to see some photos though, I'm going to go 16x8s in the near future.

All this talk of 33's makes me want to not bother getting a new set of 32's

looking bloody sweet as mate well done, mine's going to be the same i hope. What 2" with 35mm spacers what's the ride like still comfortable and what's the angle of the CV's?

Rides not as comfy as factory with the spacers but you get used to it, and dunno about angles but hits on the coil hat fuckn heaps!
