yo, got a Td27t
homejob turbo conversion, the revs absolutely top out at 4700, not a single rev more, anyone elses do this or am i the only one?
cheers

The injection pump has a governor.

Stops it reving higher.

Could be worse, could be governed to 2500rpm like a semi trailer engine.

Then you'd need a shitload more gears to make it drivable.

Could try adding some spark plugs and using petrol. Them things tend to rev higher.
Seriously though, isn't 4700 high enough for a diesel? You dragging off a WRX at the local Macca's or something?

As mentioned...IT IS A DIESEL engine...

"if ya want it to rev....drop in a chev"...petrol that is.

You want speed offroad with 33" tyres? Then what you want to do is get a second td27T head, fabricate a block that will take two td27t heads, with about a 60 degree angle between them, replace the glows with spark plugs, the diesel with ULP, and voila, a 5.4L petrol V8, perfect for speedy off-road travel on 33" tyres.

Now, on the other hand, if it's reliability and economy you're after, stick with the diesel.

A rotary would fit very nicely in the engine bay on the Nav, with lots of space.

You might need to do something funky with the diff ratios though :)

I say go for it.
