the bans were lifted when we got there, tho not for crabs, prawn or mussels...bad cause there was some good size prawn running, sparodically tho.
weather was topsyturvy but ok for a relaxing holiday..
fish were on and off, tried everything tho there, did ok and plenty off fresh fish for meals.
Tyers fished well for good duskies and a few bream,
pettmans was dead early on in the week but for a salmon school in close for some lure tossing and a few fish to 2 or so kg,
Eastern beach fishing well for salmon to a kilo...no gummys
and on the lake around Kalimna fished well in the channel at dusk for some nice KG and duskies but not during the early hours'
other than that relaxing, food , cold bevies and lots lots 'o' sweet young things to oggle.

Perfect.

And the bus...she performed beautifully,
with only less mileage on the way home with the local diesel fuel, lost about 100k's.

Hows the track down to Pettmans these days, still fairly solid?

Good to see some prawns on the move there, with a bit of luck there will be some down at Mallacoota in a few weeks when the old man heads down there.

Spent a day having a geeza around Conran east and west and then thru Marlo....Marlo is very nice

Yeah we treat Pettmans as an "out of school holidays" beach only. It's usually a nice quite location but quite often a chainsaw is required to get down the track.

Yeah Marlo is a good fishing town too, surf and lake fishing and the digs next to the shop aren't bad as far as accommodation goes. Conran to Bemm used to be good for monster salmon, haven't been down there for a while though.

even tho a few campers there, they are packed up and off the beach before dark which gives us the whole beach anyway.

Off the beach by dark? WTF else is there to do after dark if you're camping at Pettmans other than trying to catch some shark? Silly people!

yeah I was a bit amazed by that too....

it seemed that around the whole area, not only pettmans, that a lot of people were just wanting a free overnight camp and weren't fishos, this year.
