Anyone bought or found a pair at a decent price?

I'm after a set that can do the smaller non-insulated lugs, 8 & 10mm hole (6 to 8mm cable), also want it to do the small insulated type as well.

Most of the ones I've seen come in at around $150, bit much for the amount of times I will be using them.

Pretty sure I saw ratcheting types in a jaycar catalogue and blackwoods for around $40. Havnt tried em myself but. Dont know if you have blackwoods over there

I've got an account at blackwoods Jason, let me know if they have one you want and I will see what price they will do for me.

Thanks Matt, I'll have a look around.

I saw a couple on ebay Jim, wasn't sure of the quality. Maybe these:

Not a brand I've heard of before.

if your happy with the price and style of crimp and crimp sizes,
I could recommend them no worries.
Just keep the joints lubed as i have to do with my work "Cabac" crimpers and they will last you.

or for a few dollars more, a hydraulic type with extra range 4mm2 to 70mm2

Yeah they look good, probably overkill for me.

the dies arent the best quality but for the price and how many crimps will one do anyway? it would be fine,

the hand ones you picked will do you well too, many a sparky on the job have bought crimpers and tools from egay and they survive.

This mob have them under tools.
I brought a pile of lugs and the crimpers off them a few months ago, but still soldering atm. They were supposed to go into the tool box for emergency repairs.
