Bump - post needed approval because of the link.

Not sure I'd be happy with no shocks on the trailer, that'd make for some interesting towing. They have lots of water on board too, but 85L (=85kg) on the frame at the front adds significantly to the towball weight. It will change the driving dynamics of the vehicle between empty/full tanks - I'd just remove that and go with the 100L underneath.

Err, probably basic crap is my initial thought. I've seen a few of the basic offerings around Sydney and they were cheap trailers and cheap chinese tents, plus "fitout" was real shoddy.

Basically that trailer is bottom of the market.
If money is the real issue, have you considered adding a tent to a trailer?
If you buy a trailer of the right height, you can easily add a basic tent to the top, then chuck in the camping stuff you really want. Around Sydney I'd send people to Kanagaroo tent City or Camping World to find out more info.

Go here http://www.oztrail.com.au/ and look at camper trailers. You will see a range of tents added to trailers. Basically two heights for standard box and off road box trailer.

In my experience, some off-road trailers are just on-road with fat tyres and 1" of mudguard clearance.

When I'd finished going around the six or so sellers of crap, I had decided that I'd rather route of getting a trailer and adding a tent, then knocking up my own kitchen and drawer set. We already had all the camping gear.

How much work do you want to do?

Go here; http://campertrailers.org/
Go through the manufacturers list(link on top banner) and try to visit and a few local ones if you can. You will get an idea of what you need to pay for different trailers. Decent Aussie made would be about(less than) $20K. Real off road-galvanised with quality tent.

If this is your first CT, have you considered just buying a second hand one first?
There are for sale lists at
http://campertrailers.org/,
http://myswag.org/forum/ and
http://www.caravancampingsales.com.au/

Those were the three sites that I found useful when we were looking to get our first CT about 2 years ago. We ended up getting a second hand one of these mob's http://www.redbackcampers.com.au for $6,500. It was hanging around the back of a shed at a local caravan mob that we went and had a look at. The boss was angling for a Jayco style camper at the time.

If your looking to get a camper top built for your trailer, send me a pm.

We used to build and wholesale to AUSTRALIAN built camper trailer companies. However, some of these true Australia built camper trailer retailers have closed due to competition from China. Do believe me when I say these China camper trailers does not even come close to the quality of Australian built camper trailer. The price however is too cheap for most. We now change to do repairs on chinese made trailer tents, even brand new ones. But we can make up a camper tent of any size/colour and style.

there older ones weren't bad mate, the newer ones I believe have imported canvas.

I am happy to offer advice via pm if you wish mate, i have worked in the caravan industry for well over 10 yrs.
I know currently own my own business but still heavily involved in the industry.

Everything is made to a price and application, what do you intend to get out of a camper?
