Patrol transfer case

Can anybody tell me how much different a patrol transfer case is from a d22 one apart from the hand brake

Which Patrol? ZD/TD/TB is a different flange pattern, different input socket, and here's the showstopper - driver side drop rather than passenger side drop.

RD/RB - same flange pattern and input socket, but still driver side drop.

Why?

it sounds like the chain is skipping when under load, only in 4wd

yeah itll be a clunking bang sound. theres a couple vids of mine around that you can hear the noise they make. Patrol case is physically bigger. cant comment on the different flange patterns tho as i used a zd30 gbox

Check your locking hubs as well, they exhibit the same symptoms and are easy to pull off and check.

Will a zd30 transfer case bolt straight up to the yd2.5 transmissions. I have heard the zd30 has a bigger chain in it am I correct

ive got a tranfer case im only two hours from melboure i ve tried to sell here a few times about ready throw it out
