So the computers dead, was watching a movie online lastnight, when it got attacked buy a virus & no it wasn't a porno.
Now it completely rooted, won't do anything, so it's not even one of those spamming virus trying too get you to buy there antivirus shit, it's just plan malicious destruction.
These little nerdy f#cks really piss me off, f#cking up my computer just too get their rocks off.
I just hope that one day I meet one of these pathetic insects so that I can ram my fist through its skull.
Sorry for the graphic nature, but it really piss's me.

What, it won't even boot up?

Really sounds like a stuffed up virus to me. Usually these "break the computer" viruses leave a message for some cause or whatever. It is counter intuitive for a real world virus and a virtual virus to kill their host.

BTW, writing computer viruses is actually taught in some computer training courses. responsible colleges do it in a contained system, but occasionally a rogue wanna-be tries their hand in the real world and usually leaves an easy to follow trail.

Oh so true... I work in IT and from a support and admin point of view knowing how virus' work and how to write your own helps immensely. I fully support teaching people how to write them, but bring in capital punishment for any kid that thinks they have the right to release a virus into the wild...

are you really sure its a virus and not a hardware or software fault? very few virus' these days are that destructive. Were you using some form of virus protection?

If its a long range kill you want Tony, you want the AWSM in .338 Lapua Mag. longest confirmed sniper kill at 2475 mtrs... and the .50 is not allowed as an anti-personnel rifle under the Geneva convention :D

Since I won't be travelling to Geneva to kill spammers or virus authors, I don't need to worry about their conventions (ok, I really DO know what you mean!!). The .50cal is (as far as I know) used by the US military under the guise of the M82A3.

There's a video about it, interesting stuff. It's from the history channel, which means it's less likely to be a work of fiction than say the Channel 9 News, but still has a chance.

The Canadians use the MacMillan TAC-50, up till 2010 in anti-personnel. The Americans used the M82A1 till 07 or 08, now the A3 for anti-materiel only. The Norwegians still use the Barret M82A1, but can't confirm if they stopped using it for anti-personnel. The American Navy also use the Mod11Mk0 and Mk1 chambered to .458 socom for tactical work, but its useless beyond 500m

Fired a Tac-50 when I was in Vegas 2010... biggest rush I've had from a rifle ever... and only about 30 minutes before I was firing a BAR on full... the 50 is just incredible. I still want to lay my hands on a Lahti 20mm at some stage though :D

Lahti L39 with a PKM for size reference :D

I'm sure it is, a little window popped up with a progress bar lick somethin was Tryin too down load, I closed it straight away and shut down the computer but it was too late when I turned it back on she was rooted. It starts up and gets up too the desktop screen then does nothing.
I'm not looking for the long range approach, I would prefer up close and personal. Maybe my Muela pig sticker or my Buck combat knifes or 12G coach gun. Muahaha!!

If it gets to the desktop you've got 90% of Winblows loaded and if it gets to the desktop screen then it's done bugger all damage and should be repairable quickly.

A malicious virus would have wiped out the boot sector or killed the hard drive completely, I'd actually consider it lucky if it still allows you to get that far.

As I read this I've been waiting for 35 mins for mine to boot up... Just loads then restarts all day long.... Even try safe mode but nothing works :/

At what point does it reset?

If you can get the screen up that asks to boot in "Safe Mode" that is one option to help find the issue.

You could try "Last Known Good" but that depends on how far into the boot up process the system is actually going and if it does work you need to know what changed since that last good start up. (As a rule of thumb if you've seen the desktop that is the "last Known Good" boot but it's only a rule of thumb not true for ever case).

A better option might be to choose " Safe Mode with Command Prompt" and see what file is the last to load before it stalls and resets.

I have my suspicions as to which one it could be given the symptoms but with limited info my suspicion could be wrong and I could send you on a wild goose chase if I suggest something. Try and find that last file that is causing the problem and report back if you still need help.

G'evening mate!

I am sorry to here about your misfortune.

PS, can and will assist you with the ramming of the fist part through the scrotes/scumbags skull!

Has the weather become hotter recently?
Because if it isn't system software, could be heat affected hardware,

Stuff like opening it up and vacumm out all the fluff paying particular attention to the CPU and power supplies, as a first step, might help.
