max tyre size

Hello, first post here, ive got a d22 str and was just wondering what is the max tyre size I can put on without making any other mods, I would like to lift the suspension etc but currently dont have the cash to do it and I need new tyres soon.It currently has 265x70x16.

i had 265/75r16 wrangler muddies.
was 100% standard. rubs a little on standard rims when tyres were new.

thanks for the reply, looks like i will go with your size tyres, now I just have to decide which brand, have some maxis a/t on but they have worn very badly in the middle(my own fault for too much psi i guess). Looking at getting some M/T tyres next as I do loads of off roading.

If you just wind the torsion bars up which you can do for free and take off the front mudflap with a bit of persuasion 33's will fit.
