Just a curiosity question,im about to fit the new monster rides 3-4 inch lift and possibly a 1-2inch bodylift on my d40..

Asides from rubbing issues etc what would be the point in going a 285/70 r17 tyre (33.0 inch) tyre which is more expensive then a 305/65r17(32.8 inch tyre)...

Like i said apart from rubbing ill have 4-6 inches of lift and wheels with 0 offset why would some one choose the more expensive 285's over the 305's???

Thanks Ryan

width of the tyre is different, your better off running 16" rims and the 285/75/16 as apposed to the 305/70/16 as you wont be able to find a rim bigger then 8" in australia to run the 305.

285/75R16 (33/11.50R16LT)
305/70R16 (33/12.50R16LT)
thats the conversion.

saw a king cab with the 5inch calmini kit with 33 12.5 17 Mickey T MTZ's on it, I think that works out the same. Looked a bit daft though as the wheels stuck way out past the guards

Actually they might have been 18inch rims

yeah might have been 0 offset doesn't stick out much at all in they reckon 40mm but there no where near that

only reason it would of stuck out so far is the rim being wider then 8" to fit
the 12.5" tyre.

My 285's sit dead flush with the guards, so 305's would have to stick out past the guards. And I have +18 offset. BUT! It depends on if it's spanish or thia built as there offset is different.
