On full lock today i heard the worst snapping sound coming from the front right ? what the !!! nothing appeared amiss ?

you sure its not just the stop rubbing. if you have worn the plastic caps of you get a horrible steeel on steel noise

I tripple that motion, but wouldnt worry about the greese as the next time you go off road it ends up full of mud and gets washed off, all that effort for something that might rub a couple of times a week

i greased mine up a long while ago and it seemed to do the trick. if i do rough stuff i tend to hear it, but its no longer doing it just when turning from street driving.

I like the noise especially when your in a carpark and someone is right beside you and you scare the crap out of them

If your still worried, give your stabilser bar a wobble, if it moves easily it stuffed. Thats where my noise was coming from.
