What is the longevity of the synthetic rope vs steel cable ?
I understand the big plus of less weight up front with synthetic rope, but an concerned about its service life.

It all comes down to how you look after it and treat it. If you go 4wding through mud and dont spool it out to was it and get all the mud out of it, it will reduce the life. If you let it drag over rocks when using it and dont put anything between the rope and rock it will reduce the life. But if you look after it correctly it should last the same as sterl cable
