No "legal" beach driving in Victoria for anyone except the authorised and those part of one particular group down on the SW coast.

Well every dune is illegal but the risk of being caught and fined far out weighs the desire to just do it for the sake of it. I know of a few places where the authorities don't worry providing people don't treat the beach like 4wd'ers want to treat it but they are few and far between.
I can't remember the club down Portland way that is allowed to drive on the beach but if you're going to go that far you may as well just drive to SA and use their beaches.

Portland dune buggy club. You have to pay to access the dunes, but you wont find any better anywhere in Australia. Dont go on your own and let your tyres down to 15psi or you wont even get up the access ramp.

Well there ya go I thought that mob was a closed club and paying for a drive wasn't an option.

1of my mates lives in Stawell and he is a member of the club, he go's down to Portland a few times a year. If you want to do it for free your best bet is robe in SA.
