looking around for front recovery hooks for the D40.

what have you guys used or bought from where...

I also notice BCF have a 4500 kg rated toe hook... any good ?

Stuff that, with basic tools and know how, you can make a set of these points for $20 go to any steel supplier and check there off cut bin your bound to find 8mm angle
 
I have a winch up front and a hitch up back. Stick a hitch receiver block in the back and I can be towed from either end (and have been).

4.5T is more than your car's allowed to tow, and it's more than your car weighs. Stuck in the mud, your car might endure short-term stresses removing it, but you are hopefully NEVER in a position where the entire weight of your vehicle is dangling off that hook anyway and if you are I wanna be there to photograph it because it'd be bloody funny as hell when the crisis is over!
 
Custom recovery

Pretty over engineered, but I like the look as well. Two recovery each side, hook or shackle.
