I suspect that the answer really depends on how much rain falls next wet season, but can anyone share their experience in going up towards The Top in May?

Long story short, Sydney based niece has decided that a wedding and reception around Cairns mid next May is the way to go. This means that our anticipated trip up to The Top next year will have to come forward about a couple of months.

Basically, going to The top would be nice, but The Boss has plenty of other family related places in the area she also wants to visit, so time tabling isn't hard. we are currently taking three weeks to crawl up there in any case.

Just found this on R&V Moon's Pages.

A. The best single map is Hema's Cape York. It shows all the detail you need for the most popular tracks across the region.
Now that the Wenlock River is bridged ( it was done two seasons ago) it would have to be an extreme 'wet' for the Cape to be closed in mid May.

I suspect the 88 version of their book might be a bit out of date.
