As the title says,"How much does a 2inch lift cost?,hopefully you will find out here!"

As Im wanting to get one done soon as possible on my d22 I would like people who have done it to list some prices so we all have a better idea what to expect before we start shopping! Mines a 2005 str and I want to get two inches higher, new shocks and leaves plus anything else that comes with that sort of package, also I carry around 300k everyday for work.

i got a set of 2'' shackles made cost 80 bucks
wound up the torsion bars nearly 100mm i think cost a can of wd
wheel alignment at bob jane 45 bucks
there ya go 2'' lift easy as

Thanks pom300. hopefully they keep coming in with answers. Would be good to give all us navara owners some help with suspension cost and various ways of lifting our cars!

How long is a piece of string????

I recon you can pick up a basic lift for $1000 and DIY install just remember to get a wheel alignment, then for about $1500 you should get one fitted if you carry a lot in the tray you may want to look at airbags in the rear which then will bump the price upto $1800-$2000. After that you can just keep going like a set of top notch shocks like Rancho RS9000X adjustables will set you back $800 alone have a look at 4WD1.com - Australia's Leading Suspension Specialist they have all sorts of kits avaliable

If you want the better ride and handling to go with the lift, then replace the stock shocks and springs. You will be able to get a kit from around $1000 up to a bit over $2k for the old man emu etc.

Ridepro Springs, EFS Torsion Bars, Rancho RS9000X Adjustable Shocks all round and Boss Air Bags as during the week I'm fully loaded then weekends the weight drops a fair bit. Fitted the Air Bags myself 1st with everything else stock ($495 delivered), then when had some more coin got the rest installed for around $1850 including wheel alignment x2, long story. My D22 weighs around 2500kgs during the week then around 2100kgs on weekends roughly......

Lift blocks and extended shackles are illegal. Full stop.

There are cheap lifts (rear springs and shocks all round) for well under a grand. Whether or not you need new torsion bars depends on the accessories you currently have on the front of the vehicle, or what you plan to fit in the future.

With suspension components you really do get what you pay for. Companies like EFS, Tough Dog, ARB, TJM among others....they can cost a little more, but they have hard earned reputations for quality products.

For what its worth - my D40 suspension cost me $1800 fitted. At the time I had it done, I didn't have the time to fit it myself. Remove the cost of the front coils, and you're talking in the region of $1500 fitted. About what you D21 woud cost.

Lift blocks and extended shackles are a crappy way to do it.

plenty of posts on this allready.
D22's suffer from weak springs, so go fix the springs. either add a leaf or change the spring pack.

Sorry to say bud, but you need to research your info a little better before posting, lift blocks are not illegal.

cheers mark.

Lowering blocks aren't - lift blocks are. Don't know why that is the case, but it is fact. I read it with my own eyes on some Gov't traffic website not that long ago.

Went something along the lines of "lift can be achieved by springs dampers etc, or combinations thereof....blocks, extended shackles etc cannot be used". Or something like that anyway.

There are vehicles out there with lift blocks that have been engineer certified - however it is my understanding the laws changed some time ago, and while the law isn't retrospective (ie, vehicles already certified can remain as-is), no new fitments are allowed.

Debate the subject all you want from here :)

I do my research well enough...

Got a quote last week from 4x4 obsession in Melton. EFS 2" lift $1300 inclusive of labour and alignment.

i would go with blocks cheap as chips ifyou only want 2 inchs

Im not sure myself if blocks are illegal or not but il take your word for it, as for actually using the blocks have you read my build up thread, if you use blocks be prepared to shop for a new diff and that costs about 2g, so realistically its not cheap as chips, i found out the hard way.
