STX-550 Lid Central Locking

Hi all, my question is. Rather than paying the quoted $3700 for a hard lid for my STX-550 I purchased/painted and installed a second hand lid brought from a guy who was putting a canopy on. All good so far. The final piece of the puzzle is connecting the central locking and courtesy light. I'm informed that the connection is from a plug below the passenger which I have found, but, the wiring needed isn't just simple wiring but involves some sort of loom that has relays? or other electrical witchcraft. I can of course buy the part from Nissan for $250 but was wondering if there was some other solution. Thanks, Phill

I don't know how the lock mechanism works for the hard lid but getting the central locking signal down there is a piece of piss, I did it to lock the tailgate with a $15 Jaycar actuator. There is a thread titled Central locking the tailgate.

The light would be just as easy to wire up I'd imagine.
