I have spent today playing around on the rear springs of my D40, I bought kings extra heavy duty which worked well on my trip around Oz, But now I'm looking for more flex for high country runs.
Rather than spending $100's on new srings, I decided to removed the load carrying springs and add a spring from a hilux I had lying around, first impressions are really good and well worth the effort, there is only a small loss in ride height but the ride has become so much smoother. Of course there is no way you could carry 1/2 a tonne of extra weight.
Perhaps more people should consider modifying their own rear spring packs, as the more we experiment the better educated we all become??
Cheers.
