Just wondering if anyone has extended the diff breathers on their D40. It seems to me that the rear diff breather is fitted in the top of the right side axle housing (see pic) and doesn't give me too much faith that I can wade in too deep a puddle.
Bit difficult to get a pic of the front diff breather but by feel it seem to go a little higher.

If you plan on doing anything deeper than 8 inches I'd look at fixing that. That fitting should just unscrew from the housing, grab a hose barb with the same thread size, screw it in and run the hose up to somewhere nice and high.

Like Shonky siad but make sure you put some gauze or shadecloth or flywire up the free end of the bretaher to allow pressure differential but stop wasps/mud etc blocking it or you will blow out your selas. The mod is fairly common for most fourbies.
