Summer photo comp discussion

Have done this on another forum - different subject matter but translates the same.
A simple idea to get you all snapping. And for the mods it increases traffic flow and member no.s
Rules
1. Pictures must be taken between now and close date. Thinking short and sweet so howsabout Jan 31?
2. Picture must contain a Nissan Navara or part thereof of any vintage or model.
3.
4. Winner will be by vote of all other members. We short list them after close and then put up a poll.
5. As many entries as you want but remember that if it needs an explanation it might not be worthy as a picture already says 1000 words.
6. Prizes. I'll put up a $50 gift voucher for first prize. For 2nd a Stubby holder and Stickers? The greatest prize of all is being no.1! :victory:
7. Pictures should be hosted on either photobucket, flickr etc to save the Navara.asia server from a long hot summer.

Post pics here -------> http://www.navara.asia/clubhouse/2161-summer-photo-comp-post-pics-here.html

Use this thread for discussion so as to keep the picture thread clean and organized

Fine by me, as long as there is no swearing or porn I am not fussed.

I like the idea.

Dave.

That counts me out.... haha

Yeah good idea, I am no photographer but might be able to snap something interesting while on holidays...

Are we looking for subject matter rather than photographic skill?

No skill required. Just try your best to get one of those memorable shots that makes you go " ooooohhh thats a good one!"
As far as subject matter goes. Any picture you enter must have or part thereof a Nissan Navara of any age or model designation.
Photoshoping is allowed and creative editing. Just do your best to capture the moment*
Its holiday season and everyone is going to far flung places so there are plenty of opportunities. If nothing else you get a set of thought out shots to remember your trip / vehicle by in the future - incentive is everything and everybody is competitive and so we should see some better shots than just the Nav parked on the front lawn or in front of the clothes line.

*I'm sure thats a TM somewhere

As for the porn we might have to create a password protected thread Labelled "Missus in the tub"

Think about it:santaclaus:

So with 2 mods saying "Yay" does that mean 2nd and third prize is covered with a Nav forum stubby holder and some stickers????

Count me out. How can we beat Joshy's 45-degree flex?

Easy that pic was taken before today!
What about a great panographic pic of your Nav on tour with a fantastic sunrise beside the water or perhaps a pic of a secluded spot and nothing but your van and Nav a mere spec amongst it - I can see the campfire smoke wafting up while the grub is stewing away. The limits are the skies or something like that.

Send a PM to Dylan about that stuff, also for the final go-ahead for the comp. He runs and owns the show, and holds all the stubby holders/stickers.

Yeah something like that.

Since it is the 1'st of the month perhaps we should start this from today?
I'll go and start a new thread solely for the purpose.

Dammit when I'm driving I don't get out of the car long enough or often enough to take photos of my car, I'm going to have to find another Blue Nav and follow it around taking pics

Photoshoping and editing is allowed :top:

All of my photos were taken with my HTC Touch Pro HD phone, 5Mpx camera. They were then reduced to 800x479px and edited to ensure the number plate was obscured.

I'm not that good with Photoshop - I used Paint to colour out the number plate. The lens flare in my shot is the real deal.

Bloody good for phone! I've got one that doesn't even do the basics - Like ringing when someone calls!
Just used your pic as an example Tony - Not criticising at all its just that those light towers kept taking attention so I got rid of them :top:- the lens flare was just me buggerizing around.

Very clever, I'm just not that graphically gifted. And no criticism was taken at all!

Those towers are solar powered lighting towers that - shortly after that shot was taken - turn on and provide light for the rest area.
