Hey guys,

sorry if it's already been covered but I did a search and couldnt find an answewr.

Has anyone got a list of diagnostic codes for 2007 STX auto. My first 4wd run at the weekend resulted in 4WD warning light coming on and no 4WD, as luck would have it was in a group and managed to get back onto the black-top without too much trouble. Just interested to know what the fault codes are relating to the transfer case in particular as I think I have narrowed it down to the transfer case actuator motor. It's going in tomorrow to a Nissan specialist (Not a stealer) to have the fault confirmed. I'm not looking forward to the replacement quote if it is indeed the actuator. Anyone know where to start looking for a replacement part as I'm pretty sure Nissan are going to expect me to bend over a barrell while they ass rape me :(

Also whilst at it anyone know what the part number is? Its a spanish built D40 ST-X V6 petrol auto..

Cheers

the actuator is $1800 i put a massive post up about this last week so it will be on the top of the list so im surprised you didnt find it i will put the fault codes up there for auto, also do you know the procedure to get the fault code up?

Yes mate I read your post regards it but the process you reported was for a manual??

I have found the shop manual online and gone thru the diagnostic a few mins ago and the 4wd light flashes 12 times which the manual says is Actuator position switch.. Shall see what the garage has to say tomorrow..

Thanks for the input..

Well sorry for not replying in here sooner.

Had the car checked out and been told that the actuator motor is indeed stuffed :( Does anyone know if the Spain built ST-X petrol motor has the same actuator as in the Thai buids and if one from a 2.5l deisel is the same??

Got my brother in Ireland hunting down one for me, I hope!

Cheers

Tim

wont fit actuator motor is vin specific theres a few different types depending on make/model.
best bet trying to buy one is nizbits, or pull it to bits and see if its fixable im fairly sure i put a post of the insides up on the other page pull the box apart and test the motor on a 12v supply, contact clean the servo and grease the 3 cogs

Ryan. How hard is it to pull the actuator out? I jave a set of heavy duty ramps that I put the car up on so will access be possible? Anything to be cautious about? Just a little worried as I have never touched anything to do with transfer case and at least at the moment we Can drive the vehicle as it is.

Might have a go at it this weekend. I am pretty hands on. Have changed out the stock suspension and lowered out Golf GTI and done various other stuff to that. Do most of my own service work on my bike and so on so am not afraid to get dirty :)

My main concern is taking it out and then have to reassemble so it all lines up correctly. What grease do u use on the cogs?

At this point I have nothing to lose I guess as Nissan has no spares in the country at the moment..

Cheers

Tim
