Tray earth

Gday I have a 2011 D40 stx with a tub tray.

Has anyone on here found that there tray was not earthed to the chassi of the rest of the ute?

And can I earth it?

Yes you can earth it.

This is a perfect example of why we should run DUAL cables from the main battery down to the aux systems we have in our tubs.

That's why I ran dual sheathed wires for my fridge and acc socket,

The bolts holding the tub to the chassis would act as the earth( saves money)

Nah the mounts all have a rubber boot or pad between the monuing surfaces even the bolts

Ok, on the d22 there's rubber blocks between chassis and tub mounts, but nothing under the bolt head or nut, so the earth passes through

I ran an earth from the tub to the cabin body.
I still ran dual cables from the main battery to the 2nd battery. I just like everything to be earthed as one..

Yes it certainly doesn't hurt. In fact having all panels of the truck at the same potential may be beneficial in reducing corrosion and In some circumstances it can reduce RFI.
