LWE Getaway

Hey fellas,

Had a LWE about 2 weeks ago, to my surprise the lil lady REQUESTED we head south and go fishing. Packed up the nav and found a quiet spot (20mins sand 4x4 so still quiet!) about 2 hrs south of Perth.
Not meant to camp on the beach over here but as i understand it we didn't pitch a tent, just a mattress in the tray so technically not camping

Only caught 2 tailor and a few herring but heading back down soon as hopefully the salmon will be on the run, usually starts around easter

Was going to post up weks ago but got fkn burgled last week! But that's a different rant...


So what are your ideas of a quiet weekend away?

Given that my fishing in the past has been done with things that go bang its never a quiet weekend.......

My idea is a quiet couple of days in Telegherry Forest Park (near Chichester Dam NSW). Heading there this weekend to just relax the mind.

It's getting harder each year to find somewhere quite, I was always a beach or forest camper, but now I prefer to head off into the desert for complete solitude.
The only stress you have out there is trying to find firewood for the nights fire, and rationing the liquor stock.

Biggest problem in Perth is finding a quiet spot within a few hrs of the city, on LWE's the nat parks are packed out and freeway is like a carpark.
U need to head a bit further, then u don't see a sole.

Still searchin within a half day drive for the perfect weekend getaway though
