terrano td27t rebuild

hi all

im just wondering, since i cant find a reco td 27 d21 engine anywhere in aus, how hard and at what cost would it be to rebuild my warn terrano td27t engine thats in my d21(DIY JOB). is it a huge job. the rings have gone in it. is that all i would have to replace and to do so would i just lift the motor out and drop the crank.

I've never done this, but there is some specialist equipment that you will need.
I suspect that it's prob a more complex job than that. If the rings are worn, how are the valves?

Have you considered buying a gearbox/ZD30 combo from a Navara? Should bolt onto your transfer case. Is the QD32 a straight swap?

If you can get a QD32/gearbox combo, it's a pretty easy swap, but they're so poorly supported parts wise...
