navara st v9x with a/c problems

Have a navara v9x with climate control a/c.
96000km.
Around town a/c would work intermittently.
Out on road with good airflow worked well.
Temp on motor normal.
When towing under load temp rose.
Took it to Nissan.
Diagnosed faulty electro viscous fan problem.
Apparently fan was just turning enough to keep motor cool,but engine management was registering a slight temp increase.
Engine management was shutting down the A/C to take load off motor!
Fan is mechanical electro viscous,which uses dc signal to control how fast the fan spins.
Fan replaced($1500.00)and all is well.
Just thaught others might like to know as the original problem was just the A/C shutting down.

Wow, for a price tag of $1,500 I'd be taking a serious look at repair vs eBay. There's a serious amount of profit in that, I'd have balked at it. Thanks for posting the solution! I tried finding the fan on eBay and couldn't see it. I assume it's a rare problem?
