Hi guys,

Im thinking about having a Nissan factory snorkel fitted to my 2008 D22. My question is that there appears to be a good spot for a second battery in the front passenger side of the engine bay and I'm wondering if the fitting of a snorkel will affect this?

Any help appreciated.

Whereabouts does the current air intake enter the mud guard Jason? Most snorkels try to use the existing holes in the inner guard rather than cutting a new hole.
 
Hey mate,

It appears to go around the battery spot and enters the guard at the very front. I just took some quick pics as I know we have mostly 3.0 litres fellas on here :)

If it joins on in the inner guard like you say it should be fine.

Providing there is enough clearance at the very front of the guard for the snorkel hose to connect up nothing should change there. On the 3.0 Navara the intake comes in through that other hole that's in the guard behind your intake.
 
Perhaps that piece changes then when a snorkel is fitted, to go through the second hole you are talking about.

I need someone with the 2.5 CRD and a factory snorkel to let me know.

Hey mate
My mate in Medowie has the 2008 2.5 CRD with a factory fitted snorkel- he has his dual battery set up ok in the engine bay
Not sure what size he went with to fit it in but can find out if you like
Me, I couldn't be bothered so I put mine in the rear
