hi guys still new to the forum. to start off only had the truck a few weeks now.

so top of the fix list was the bigend leak... heres some pics as i go ..

i think on its last rebuild they whent to town with that blue silicone.....
 
Thanks for the pics mate, I enjoy seeing threads like this one.

I bet the V6 is a big improvement over the standard engine.
 
to tell u the truth it loooks pretty dam clean for a vn v6 motor just make sure you clean out the water jackets because they are known to scum up like urs allready has
 
hi guys ... yer it did run nice with the v6 . runs good on gas..

ill get some more pics up ..all ive been doing is picking this blue silicone off it.. it was even on the cam its shocking..

:rock: Great pics, what are the plans for the V6, how much of a rebuild are you doing? (Back to standard specs or some go faster goodies thrown in?)

hi mate ... i did the heads, port matched,crow timing all new bearings.. more looking for reliable than fast..

i would like to put this LPG VAPOUR INJECTION on her ..

heres some new pics ive been stuck on the timing cover ... i lost 2 days on pulling 1 off a old vn to find the cam had ground 1/2 the inside cover away..

so now im trying to fix the 1 off the truck (broken water pipe and corroded)

here is the oil pump off the 2nd timing cover.... its full of thick grease

i got a brass fitting and durafix to try in the morn ill get more pics up if it works...

anyone tried durafix before ??

spent today getting the horn to work ...what a job. whole new wiring/relay circuit only thing i used off the car was the button on the wheel..

and buliding a gauge holder its a bit off to the left but it holds them gagues ok lol

hi guys ..all went well got the mod plates and rego but the gas tank was 2 weeks out of date so i had to remove the gas for rego...now its $400 to test the tank and get a new tag...

now shes got new bugs... i went out 4wding and when i was going slow in 4wd the engine temp got up a bit then the front brakes started to pull on....

I'm thinking the brake lines are getting hot..but its fine in 2wd ??

should i be looking at the front diff ? or hubs ??

Not sure but how close are the manifolds to the brake lines ?

Wouldn't hurt to pull the calipers off and check them out though.

hi.. manifolds to the brake line is about 6"...

got it up on blocks wheels off and the hubs don't spin this is all cold...

i got the caliper off hub spins free .. caliper looks ok ..o-ring looks new and has new brake pads

is this a caliper thing or master cylinder?

the disc's don't look to flash .. im thinking new disc and pads.... looks like a big job.
 
hi guys bit of a update...

the brakes are stuffed .. 1 pad was stuck and the calipers had dirt in them..
$50 to get a new kit to fix them... not to bad..

but now there is more the oil pressure relief valve spring stuffed up ... so long story short motor is out ..

so now im working on heat wrapping and upping the pipe size to 2 1/2"
also got a v8 radiator and made a shroud for it...

anyways here is a few pics let me know what you guys think..
