hi ive been reading alot of threads regarding only using Penrite Enviro+ 5w-40 oils in these engines cause of the dpf filters and it being the only oil that can run in these engines. ive also been told if u run anything thicker eg 10w or 15w u can destroy ur engine.
i have a 09 D22 STR Manual, no dpf filter but a 2.5" turbo back exhaust system, do i need to use this enviro+ oils? if i do can i go to a thicker grade eg 10w-50 so on? ive heard of people putting standard castrol 15-40 and valvoline durablends and stuff in these motors, is it good?
