Looking for interest in heading out to Wombat this weekend either day, looking to hit up some tracks now the Nav is running again.

Meeting Point: Carolls Lane 10:30

Trip Rating: Med-Hard, It depends on what cars turn up and the condition of the tracks as there is rain predicted for the next few days.

This is posted on Mud Rhino forum as well so there is a chance of some Patrols and Cruisers coming along (none yet)

Must have recovery points and own recovery gear.

I'll have a go. Either day. Aside from stinky bogholes what else have you discovered out there that you would rank as "hard" ?

I have seen a few vids of some fairly steep tracks that could be interesting in the wet. But I have only actually been out there twice, I am sure you know your way around allot better than I do. Can you suggest any good tracks?

Only a few short sections of track are steep. Mostly just mud holes out there. For more interesting tracks perhaps look toward cobaws.
What about the areas around Eppaloch? Have you tried anything out that way?

I wouldn't mind hitting a bit of mud, but not too deep. I have only ever been down Gipsland way around Baw Baw, Wombat, Pyrenees Ranges and Creswick state forest. I don't really want to be driving all day just to get to some tracks. Probably no more than 1 & 1/2Hrs from Ballarat if I can help it. I know Baw Baw is like 3 Hrs away, but I normaly stay at my cousins house for the weekend when I go there.

you guys will have to have a day over the pyrenees some time. not to bad tracks in there.

Been there once with some guys from Mud Rhino, GQ's running 35&36" Simex ET's. All we really came across was insanely steep hills covers in slippery red clay, Now that I have some better tires I would be keen to head out there again and have another crack some time.

not wet

There really isnt anything steep this end of the wombat West side of Daylesford.Just tracks for a casual drive considering the rain the last week i still didnt move the second gear stick. Just a little bit of peddle and straight through. Tracks themselves are dry not even greasy, Few ruts. Still some old gold diggings around Eganstown ,Make for a interesting day beats working. Count me in .

OK guys it has been decided that Saturday should be the day to head out, as per 1st post meeting point Carolls Lane at 10:30, there may be a few guys from the Mud Rhino forum along that live in Sunbury so they know the tracks out there reasonably well, one in a 60 series cruiser and 1 in a GQ.
I will start a list of names to add to so we know who is coming.

1) Pat D22-32" Mudies

My number is 0417 610 099. If anyone is comming I will be at the corner of carolls lane and Bacchus marsh-gisborne rd at about 10. We will be heading into the bush about 10:30 on UHF 16. Hope to see some guys out there

Sorry none of you guys came along today. You missed out big time, we had an awesome day of 4wding around Wombat. Drove some great tracks and got to give my new tires a good workout. Found a bit of mud, some big rutted tracks and some steeeeeeeepppp hills that where slippery as. I will post some vids tonight.
I just hope next time that some other Navaras turn up.
