Since disconnecting the battery, have you entered the radio code? The radio wont do much at all until that code has been put in.

once you put the readio code back in hold down the little phone symbol on the right for a few seconds then press the numbered buttons 1,2,3,etc they are all different menus. give that a crack..
the manual was bloody useless!!
