Hey guys,

I have a d22 with a heavy duty spring setup on the back, was wondering if switching up to a softer setup i.e remove the heavy duties and have extended shockers give me better handling and traction off road?

Absolutely.
For traction and articulation the softest spring that still holds up the weight of the car is the way to go. You also need to get shocks valved to suit for maximum performance.
