Sounds to me like something is causing the synchro to stick when the gearbox is cold and the oil is thicker. How long since the gearbox has had any work done on it?
If you are unsure when the gearbox oil was last changed, it might be an idea to do that. When you empty the gearbox, check the oil for metal fragments.
Common 'issue' (not really a problem, more an annoyance). What's worse is driving an non-synchro truck or tractor gear box when it's cold.
If you can't stand it, try double clutching when the box is cold. Google double clutching if you need to.
If it's a really bad problem, first replace the gearbox oil, make sure you use the correct viscosity, if that doesn't help replace the synchros.

Gearbox oil you could probably do yourself. Replacing synchros is a fair bit more technical, you have to split the gearbox and when all the little pieces fall out, you have to put them all back in the right way.
If replacing the oil doesn't help, I suppose an easier fix is to replace the gearbox - and might be the answer, if you can get one from a local wrecker.

quite possibly it has the wrong oil in it.
