Trip to WA

Just back from trip to WA from Toowoomba covered over 17000km in 2 months and basically a trouble free trip the navara didn't miss a beat .Wish nissan could make a tail gate that could be made dust proof but that Kimberly dust is so fine .attached some photo's of trip if I can attach them

Hey Chris,

You must have had an awsome time mate.

Im looking at doing a similar trip, but from down south leaving Sydney, through Melbourne, Vic, Adelaide and so on over to Wa. With out going crazy what did you carry with you in the way of spares and so on.

Also how did you go with things such as fuel, How far between stops did you carry a gerry can or two, any info or insight you would be happy to share would be fantastic.

Even things you thought compleatly nessacery that were just a waist of space if any?

what to take

Jason you will have a great trip we did .You will alway's take the wrong things but i packed oil ,filters fuel and oil ,coolant ,bucket to drain oil into if you change it yourself ,silicon ,zip ties (you will use these)100m/p/h tape ,gasket goo ,spare fuses ,replace w/bearings and radiator hoses before trip and carried old ones ,w/bearing grease ,trailer w/bearings ,general tools ,fuel hose ,3 spares (camper has hilux wheels same stud pattern as nav)battery drill and bottel of screws and nuts & bolts ,12v compressor spare tubes ,patches, 40 litre engle ,and 2 x 25l eskies ,

What needed but didn't pack Empty storage tubs to put he items you buy along the way ,w/bearing dust caps for trailer (coke bottle and zip ties will do the job )

Our nav has 125l tank so we tried to fill up in major towns but most fuel stops are about 400k apart even up the top but only thing in the $$ We carried on jerry can but heaps water 80 litres water tank under camper plus another 25 liters on the draw bar and the 10litres in the nav and would buy 24 pack bottle water (freeze up some over night so had cold water and party ice in water bottle at time and cans drink in there.)
