Hi all, just joined up and after some advice.

I have standard 205 R16's on my DX D22 and am looking at getting better tyres. I have been told the largest I can go on my rims is 225's.

I have seen a few other DX's around lately that have changed rims and running fatter tyres such as 245's.

Trying to work out if it is worthwhile changing rims as well or just getting 225s. If I change rims and go for 245' or 255's will that affect my fuel economy. I have the 3.3L unleaded, so fuel economy is something I always look at as it chews it a little at the moment.

cheers
Mark.

Slap a STR tyre placard on it and put 265/70/16 or 265/75/16's on it.

What rim's do you have and how wide are they ?

16x6.0 steel sunraysia rims.

My biggest concern is if i change rim and tyre size, will my fuel economy suffer as a result?

Probably will change abit.

You will need 7 inch Rims atleast for 245's and so on.

What does your diff code say on the firewall ?

What are you getting now per 100km's ?
