hey guys just wondering i have 35w 6500k lights in my spotties
and now goin to replace the bulbs with 100w 8500k .....
does this mean i'll have to change the relay?

P = VI, and I = P/V

in your existing situation you have

I = 35/12 = approx 3A (for 2 lights = 6A)

In the new case

I = 100/ 12 = approx 8A (for 2 lights = 16A)

What is your relay rated to?, you will need to check. probably more than 16A, probably something like a 40A.

Also check can the ballasts you have handle such a large increase from 35 to 100W?

My Philips kit runs a new harness pretty much.

Just uses the original wiring to trigger the lights to turn on.

are those 100w hid as well? they should come with ttheir own ballasts- otherwise it will be the same - 35w
if so where did u buy em from?
standard halogen spotties are about 100w -so if u bought/used a std wiring harness u should be ok - just make sure there is a suitable fuse inline
and a s simon said check the relay

Is the fitting going to handle the triple heat output?

yes. i have done it multiple times and most products do but just couldnt remember about the relay..
As for the ballast they can handle the 100w hid globes.
