Can i fit bfg ats to my exsiting stx (07)alloy wheels without any problems.The tyre size will be the same as the Continatals that were fitted as new. 255/70 R16 ?

I have jsut been on a Two hour sarger with the RTA, JAX Tyres, MTA and the Authorities about what size tyres i can run on my D40, the Original tyres were 255/65-16 i wanted to fit 265/75-16's and the RTA has said NO! because its over 15mm the original DIA of the rim and tyre combination. The RTA has said that its only in NSW every other state is 50mm. So the only size legally you can fit to a D40 is 245/75-16 or 255/65-16.
The NSW RTA did say the rule was changing but when they dont know.. Great help to us.
