Anyone had experience with these, I would love a canopy but I don't have that much to spend and need a lockable cover at least.

As I have the NP300 there's not much for them out at the moment and the Bakflip trifold's look good for $1500.
 
Never heard of them, do you have a link?
If it were me, I would spend the extra dosh and get a canopy, they are around, I have seen a few.
Canopies are well worth their money.
I'd be lost without mine.
 
I really want one of them aeroklas canopies they look awesome but not out for the np300 yet. I might even just get a flush sod tonneau cover and do what you said, save for it as I don't really need it lockable yet, do you usually need to do any drilling for the flush soft tonneau cover as I don't really want to make holes for no reason.
 
You have to attach the rails for the tonneau to clip into.
I believe they are screwed or riveted to the inside lip of the tub.

That's no big deal I guess, better then spending $1500 on a bak flip to find out it doesn't really suit my purpose, I'll only be using it for sporting equipment.
