I ended up finding a cheap stock aluminium bullbar for my 2014 d22.

It has the stock bumper on it and I know you can't just swap them over without the bracket and fittings.

Is there someone I can purchase these from or am i stuck with a pretty lawn ornament?

There are heaps of different brands of alloy bars, you gotta be a bit more specific if you need the brackets.
Try the manufacturer.

You weren't to know I suppose, but no way I'd be buying a bullbar without the mounting brackets.

I doubt you'd even get them from a wrecker, as I think they would generally stay with/ be sold with the bullbar. Never know till you try though.

You might have to get some fabricated, which won't be cheap. Also the factory fitted alloy bullbars I have seen have very thick strong mounting brackets. Some of the popular aftermarket ones can be comparatively very flimsy, have seen them break. You might have to look around for someone that will make them for you.

Another option could be a winch cradle for the alloy bullbars that they sell on ebay? They bolt to the chassis and have provision for mounting the bullbar which bolts onto them. About $350 I think, which isn't cheap either and I know nothing of the quality.

ps. looks like those winch mounts specifically for alloy bullbars will be no use either after looking at them.

The ones as in the link mighrt get your bullbar mounted, but you wouldn't be able to mount a winch without modification to the bullbar I think, so seems a lot of wieght to carry around for nothing. Look a bit flimsy also.

pps. Have you tried the dealership? Afaik I have heard before of people being unsuccessful with D22 bulbar mounts (they'd probably cost an arm and a leg anyway), but if so they might be able to steer you in the right direction?

Thanks for the advice man, i'm pretty green when it comes to cars but the seller told me it would swap with my old bumper no problem. So I was pretty naive.

I ended up finding the pair of mounts for an alloy bar for $100 of some d22 wrecker out Logan on Facebook, fitted the bullbar and looks okay, holds up good.

Now I just need to find out how to hook the indicators up.

Glad you got it sorted. I prefer the alloy bullbars (only problem is if you want to mount a winch).
