maybe they didn't get the later d40 version or the np300 over there!
 
Could they just be using old footage? It's very unlike any car manufacturer to go back to an older design to release a new vehicle.

A "related article" on the page has the title "2020 Nissan Frontier: Same 16-Year-Old Truck, New V-6 Engine" - and it's the petrol version they're talking about, because they've replaced the 4.0L with a 3.8L plant (the V6 diesel was a 3.0L engine).

It's certainly odd, but hey, when you're on a good thing ... I am not sure why they went with the older D40 to compete with other makers in an off-road design though, because the D40's longer wheel base does reduce its centre clearance over obstacles (and they admit this in the article).

I wonder if we'll get that car over here?
