Noticed some oil on the driveway. Appears to be coming from back of the sump area. Could this be a rear main bearing seal, and is this common with Spanish built D40's? Vehicle is 2010 manufacture and has only done just over 100,000km.
If this is the problem will I need a mortgage to get it fixed?

if its a rear main seal it is common with any car engine not just the Nissan D-40 etc etc. you should firstly degrease all the engine areas including under the rear of sump and gearbox so you can then spot where the leak is really coming from as there is a chance it could be just a leaking rocker cover gasket or simular. alot of the time when the rear main seal starts leaking you can get oil on the clutch where a shudder or slight slippage can occur. look closely behind the back of engine when its clean and after a drive to see if any oil is seeping down from the top.
