Hey all,

I had a bit of cooling problem today, thankfully it was 2 mins from home.

I seem to have 2 pin hole leaks coming from a steel pipe in my 2008 D22 YD25 Navara. Looking at the pipe it seems like a MASSIVE job. I have attached some photos hopefully someone can offer some advice. It looks to me like to may be an engine out job but i can't seem to find the pipe online to even see how it runs at the back of the engine. Just hit me with the bad news.

Cheers,

Those small rubber lines are for the engine oil cooker, the bigger lines feed the heater core. How big a job to replace I couldn't say, but it will need a full coolant change...

Bit of an update.

Managed to get time to have a look at the pipe today.

Spent about an hour trying to to remove the pipe from the drivers side of the engine after alot of swearing i decided to remove the alternator and wriggle it out the passenger side. Came out pretty easy in the end and a new one should go in just fine. The part isnt in Australia and needs to come from Japan, not sure on part numbers but costs around the $66 mark. I will update part numbers and price once i have an invoice. I have attached more detailed photos of the pin holes for anyone interested.

Rescue tape would have gotten you home from just about anywhere - amazing stuff. Just pull it BLOODY tight as you're putting it on - as it comes around onto itself it will weld itself together and hold as tight as a nun's .... ooh sorry family show.

I wouldn't have brazed it to fix it either, unless it were only temporary. Replace = best move.
