G,day all,
Has anyone successfully installed a different head unit in their car and connected the steering wheel audio controls. I'm after either the wiring diagram or if someone can tell me what colour wire does what in the connector that comes from the steering wheel.

Gday, is it the stereo with bluetooth or not?

without bluetooth- Wire colours should be Blue Green and Purple in the harness that connects to the stereo. Pin number 9 and 10 when looking at the connection. The orang wire pin 12 is the ground.

I hope that helps.

Depending on what stereo you are fitting you may need a convertor. Kenwood units have a learning function and do not need the adaptor.
 
Thanks for the reply, i just bit the bullet and had it professionally installed, cost me $250 on top of the Unit. They did a neat job and had to run wires up both front pillars for microphone and the GPS unit.
I bought a Mongoose Q270 for $800.

So far i'm quiet impressed.
