I was recently in the Vic high country, driving up Mt Gibbo.
When I stopped I was alerted by my mates following me that I was leaving a large oil slick. When i climbed under the front end of my STX-550 I found that a hole, probably caused by a rock, in the oil cooler. Luckily, there was a bit of oil left in the sump. I patched the hole with some metal putty while my mates headed into Corryong to get oil. We got down the next morning & I made it home (400km). My Navara is now known as Exxon Valdez. But WHY the F*%k
would an auto engineer put something so vulnerable in such a stupid location?
Underbody armour is definitely going on before the next trip. Any recommendations??

Bashplates would be a must on a d40 i reckon, probably any ifs ute for that matter.

Not sure which ones are best on the d40s but some brands are the same, main thing to watch out for is how they bolt up to different bullbars at the front of the plate.
