Hi all, since new my local nissan dealer has been using castrol gtx professional 15w40 in my navara from what the invoices say. its just had its 70km service done and i was charged $80 for the gtx professional 15w40 oil which seems a bit rich
Total 70km service cost me $327
Could they have been invoicing me the wrong oil but using the right one?
My navara is a 2014 manual 2.5 turbo diesel spain built

For $80 - $100 you can get yourself 20 litres of lots of brands of CI4/CI4+ or if lucky CJ4 15-40 oil and do it yourself.

$80 for 7 litres of the stuff is pretty steep. Pretty much triple retail for us consumers.

You can bet it's closer or 5 or 6 times what they buy it for in a 44gal drum.

so does the d-40 take around 7 litres of engine oil ? if so say if you had to go out and buy this same brand of oil , you would have to buy 2 x 4 litres and i would think the cost would have to be very close to $80 for this quantity of oil. when i first bought my navara i did buy the genuine nissan engine oil and i recall the cost was about $50 for 4 litres.
