i'm having a problem installing the head back on the zd30.

basically the firewall/body is in the way.
it was difficult to get it off. i think i rolled it off the side. munted the gaskets.
obviously i don't want to damage the new gaskets.

did a quick measure and compared the other ute to it, this one seams to have the engine 5mm back. tried loosening gearbox and engine mounts but not enough slack in the engine mounts to move it forward.

currently looking at either taking the engine mount bolts out and slide it forward temporally or loosening off the body mounts and shifting the body back.

any thoughts?

You'd be better off disconnecting the tailshaft and loosening the transfer mount, then jack up the transfer tilting the engine forward slightly.
It could be just enough to get the head on.

many thanks for that. it worked a treat.
didn't even have to take the tail shaft off. just undo the two gearbox mount bolts. only lifted it up 20-25mm.
i'm surprised such a small angle changed made all the difference. tho i did remove the studs on the back of the head and reinstalled them once head was in (remember to seal the top stud).
