2012 Nissan Navara ST-R Rust Issues

G'Day,
Just wanting to know if anyone else has rust issues in their D22 Navaras. I purchased my ST-R Navara brand new from a Dealer near Sydney in Mid 2012. I noticed rust starting to show in April 2013. Effected areas are left and right 'A' and 'B' pillars, under the carpet on both front and drivers side floor pan, bonnet hinge, radiator lower support panel the list goes on. I will post pics soon. Im in the process of recovering my money and all expenses I've out layed in obtaining Expert Reports from Rust Specialist and Mechanical Engineers ect. They all say that the car was somehow exposed to salt during its process of being built or was not manufactured properly. Nissan at first didnt want to know anything about this, but are now saying because its a 4x4 I must be driving on the beach on a regular basis. I live in Sydney and dont even take the thing off road. So if anyone has rust issues please contact me asap. As I know im not the only one. Cheers Matt

Stick it to them i say, mainly because even IF you had driven it on the sandy beaches every day for the last two years surly it should be built to prevent rust from forming within that time period.

Exactly as above... And even if it did cause rust, that's the last spot I would expect it.. I'd be checking on what the warranty is on rust and corrosion, I have a feeling its 5 years... If they try and refuse it, fair trading is the way to go..

I have heard of plenty of people fighting with Nissan over rust issues......

Is your D22 a Thai built, because in the later part of 2011 October/ November the factory was flooded and production was halted.
Large areas of Thailand was flooded.
I was waiting for delivery of mine, it was on the ship but could not leave port.
Might be worth looking into

i had $1600 worth of rust damage nissan said yes they will pay im a panel beater so im going to fix it myself and keep the money haha get a quote from a panel shop and tell them its going to be warranty and then take the quote to nissan and see how you go
