Engine Scan Tool Recommendations

Hi guys,
Looking at buying a scan tool that I can read and delete diagnostic events.
Needs to be compatible with an 2013 D40 STX550.
Any recommendations?

Check this link. Should be an ELM327 adapter cheap as on ebay. If you have an Android phone or tablet with bluetooth your on your way. Look up OBD2 apps such as Torque and check the adapter compatibility. If you have an apple device check on the app store and see whats available.
I use the NDS1 app on my ZD30 but that doesn't use OBD@ protocol

If you have an iphone watch out for the bluetooth ones as the one I purchased from Ebay did not work, you are better off with a adapter that connects via wifi as it will work with all phones the one I use is:

Ive got a 2012 STX550 and it works great, the app I use is iOBD2 on my iPhone.

That is true for android as well. If you read the Torque app information it will give a link to adapters that work

Hi,
I have this and works a treat. I have a dedicated laptop software one plus the Iphone/Android ones and this beats them all hands down. My mechanic actually has one also, cheap too and just plugs and plays. May work with yours, can't see why not.

Do you know if you can monitor transmission temp with it?

I use a Scangauge II. Reads and deletes codes on the run . Used it for years. Would be lost without it.
